About: WMA Chess Club is a comprehensive program that combines weekly one hour group chess lessons under a professional chess instructor's supervision with a hands on experience of participating in 2 (two) in-school and 2 (two) outside of school friendly tournaments. During the regular weekly chess lessons students will learn the appropriate chess terminology, chess etiquette (rules of acceptable behaviour) and historical facts. Intermediate level students will lean how to play with a chess clock and record their moves. After most of the chess lessons the chess instructor will give out homework due the following week. The homework will be also posted on our WMA Chess Club website, for those who was absent. During chess lessons club members will play against each other under instructors supervision, as well as play against the instructor. During each chess lesson there will be time set on learning a "character move" or a certain technique.
